🔒 MAS Station Operator Admin

Station operator only. Trigger test broadcasts and send manual alerts through the live MAS broadcast — spoken, on the map, and in the alert list, same as automatic alerts. Protected by a password only the station operator holds; nothing here works without logging in first.

Set up the admin panel

No admin password has been configured yet. The username is always MCrashCraft.

From the server's own terminal, any time (this also works to reset the password later):

python server.py --set-admin-password

🧪 Testing

Everything in this section is clearly marked as a TEST — never the real "announcing [event]" opening real alerts use — and clears itself automatically after a few minutes. Fill in a target area below and it applies to whichever test you fire: only listeners within that radius of the target hear it, exactly like a real alert (Michael's ask — an alert for Grafton, OH shouldn't sound in Pittsburgh or Columbus). Leave the area blank to fire an unscoped test that's audible everywhere, for a quick sound check.

Test a specific alert type

Fires that type's real sequence — the correct attention tone (loud two-tone EAS, repeated twice, for Warning-tier/civil-emergency types; the lighter single beep for Watches/Advisories/tests) and correct wording, so you can verify every type actually sounds right, using the target area above.

Generic test broadcast

A simple "this is only a test" message — for a quick end-to-end check that isn't about any particular alert type.

📣 Manual alert

A real message from you, the station operator — not the National Weather Service. Broadcasts through the same pipeline as automatic alerts: spoken (with the official MAS opening), shown on the map and alert list, with the county/city names resolved from the location you give. The tone is driven by the alert type you pick — a real Warning-tier or civil-emergency type always gets the full loud alarm and repeats twice, matching what a real alert of that type would do — and choosing "Warning" here forces it too for anything else. Only heard within the radius below of the target city — same as a real alert only sounding in its own covered area (an alert for Grafton, OH shouldn't sound in Pittsburgh or Columbus).

Written by a local AI model running on this machine (LM Studio), summarizing MAS's own real data for the location below. Not an official National Weather Service forecast. Internal/operator use only — not shown anywhere on the public site — since generation runs a real AI model on this machine and can take a few minutes.

🔑 API Keys

Read-only data endpoints (alerts, radar, history, etc.) are public — no key needed. Anything that WRITES to MAS (BOLO, reports, manual/test alerts) needs either this admin login (for the web UI) or an API key (for a script or external integration — separate from your own login). Send it as a request header: X-API-Key: <key> or Authorization: Bearer <key>. The full key is shown only once, right after you generate it — copy it somewhere safe immediately, since this page can never show it again (only a one-way hash is ever stored).
